From the above article:

"The company was founded in 1811 as a cloth factory but converted in 1883 on hat factory. The company manufactures hoods and hats in wool, hair and velour for men and women. In the modern factory rooms equipped with all the latest innovations, it is possible to produce up to 1,200 pairs of stumps per day which are further processed in a branch plant also located in Luckenwalde. In the field of export, the company has been active in the early days."

The factory building was designed by the famous architect Erich von Mendelsohn.

STECO "Otter Velour" probably late 1930s. Unfortunately this hat was modified. The ribbon / bow was replaced and the brim was probably cut. Luckily I was able to find out that STECO was Friedrich Stienberg Herrmann & Co. Hutfabrik Luckenwalde (Germany). The "Otter Velour" was most likely STECO's answer to J. Hückel ´s Söhne's "Seal Velour". The Velour (finish, hand, color) and original components (liner and sweatband) are very high quality.

STECO Echt Velour "Quality Velour Seal", 57cm, probably mid to late 1930s. Confirmed this har was made by Friedrich Steinberg Hermann & Co. (STECO) Hat Factory Luckenwalde (East Germany) so they might be the source. The "Quality Velour Seal" felt color is a fantastic + unique Tobacco (Tabak) color with a great finish and hand. Also a interesting bow design and two tone liner.

STECO "Hora Velour" Form "Münster" velour in grey. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Never heard of the brand before, but the felt is great and aside from some staining on the liner the hat is in excellent condition. Judging by the sweatband my thought is pre-war. German made, because it has a German label. Colour is called "eis" (ice).  This hat belongs to Stefan on FL.

Interesting find by Matt on the FL.

"The "EMA" imprint on the sweatband is from "Emil Mandel - Großhuthandlung Dresden."
