Brüder Böhm, E.W. & Co. Prague possibly 1930s.  This Wool Stiff Felt belongs to Robert on the FL.  Some how I missed this hat or forgot to post it at the time.  I need to look into E.W. & Co. Prague. It could be the company name used by Brüder Böhm Prague.

Brüder Böhm, 1931 Pocket Calendars, 9.5 cm X 7 cm, top in German and bottom in Czech.  I actually received the Czech one as gift during my recent visit to Novy Jicin and I purchased the German one prior to leaving on the trip (arrived by mail during my absense) so an amazing coincidence.

Hello I have a question: we are working on a documentary about the football club Rapid Wien. This club was founded by workers of the hat factory Böhm. For this it would be nice to show one or two pictures of the hat factory. And I saw that you posted here advertising posters and pictures from inside the factory. Would it be possible to use those? Would be glad to receive a reply. Thank you very much and best regards Daniel Budka

Brüder Böhm "Böhms Ultima", 58 cm, late 1930s and made for the Norwegian Market.  I made a trade with Panos on the FL for this fantastic Velour.  The following are Panos's photos.

Brüder Böhm Wien "Derby", 58cm / FP 6, possibly late 1920s early 1930s.  I think this is Fur Felt but it could be a Fur - Wool mix.  It has a very nice Finish and soft Hand.  The overall condition is excellent which is major bonus.  This Stiff Felt was made for the Copenhagen Depart Store "Crome & Goldschmidt  A / S. City".  I purchased this Stiff Felt from Victoria who is a 5 Star Etsy online store owner located in Sweden (see the above post).

I received the following message from Jonathan (BruederBoehm) the grandson of Victor Böhm who was the owner and chief inventor at Brüder Böhm Wien, Neutitschein / Novy Jicin.

"I just came across this very interesting article on Brüder Bohm, which I thought you should read.  It was published in the latest issue of "Jewish Culture and History" and makes use of the family archive of correspondence that my uncle Henry Bohm (Victor's son, my mother's brother) donated to the Leo Baeck Institute in New York City."

"Letters of loss and urgency: Jewish refugee industrialists, business networks and pathways of rescue"  By Dr. Trisha Oakley Kessler, 2022

Abstract
By exploring a collection of business correspondence between Jewish industrialists and their global networks following the expropriation of a large hat factory in Czechoslovakia in 1938.  this article sheds light on the complicated and unpredictable nature of human responses to an unfolding moment when Jewish business colleagues faced ruinous economic persecution. Within these letters, these industrialists compose identities that reflect their business selves shaped by their experience of becoming refugees. They also draw out the mechanisms of decision-making in a crisis situation and highlight the concepts of strategy and agency that were crucial to navigating a new social and economic reality.

The author, Dr. Trisha Oakley Kessler, was kind enough to let me post a link to the article.

Brüder Böhm, Daniel Zikeli Wien  "Rekord", 58cm possibly later 1950s.  Based on the paper label I believe this Homburg was made by Brüder Böhm and  sourced by Daniel Zikeli Wien.

I found Daniel Zikeli in the "Austrian Hat Industry Guide (1926)" as Daniel Zikely Wwe (Widow) so he had passed away. The location "X. Laxenburgerstr. 30" is the same as the what is printed on the Liner and stamped on the sweatband.
