  1. P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität, 58 cm, 124 grams, possibly mid 1930s.   It's difficult to find old P. & C. Habig Wien Stiff Felts in normal sizes and this is a great one.  As expected from P. & C. Habig Wien everything (Felt, Components, Construction) is top of top quality.  Made for R. Hecht "Theater Passage, Leipzig". Also the fit is perfect so no tweaking needed.  There is a "Auto Cape" mark but there is no "Auto Cape" present.  My guess is the felt insert was removed.

  2. KNIZE "Wien - Bad Gastein, New York - Paris" made by P. & C. Habig Wien, 57 cm possibly early 1960s.  This hats was made P. & C. Habig Wien for the famous Wien Men's Bespoke Clothing Store KNIZE "Wien - Bad Gastein, New York - Paris".  It's a sporty thin ribbon model with a Rauh Felt Finish with a mix of black and grays.  The Felt easily dry creases and is in very good condition.  Also has the P. & C. Habig Wien patented ventilation system called "Ventilo".

  3. Brüder Böhm Wien "Derby", 58cm / FP 6, possibly late 1920s early 1930s.  I think this is Fur Felt but it could be a Fur - Wool mix.  It has a very nice Finish and soft Hand.  The overall condition is excellent which is major bonus.  This Stiff Felt was made for the Copenhagen Depart Store "Crome & Goldschmidt  A / S. City".  I purchased this Stiff Felt from Victoria who is a 5 Star Etsy online store owner located in Sweden (see the above post).

  4. Wilhelm Pless Wien "Extra Extra Qualität", 57 cm, possibly late 1920s early 1930s.  This a really beautiful Stiff Felt and in near mint condition.  This is my first Wilhelm Pless Wien so a rare find.  The only other WPW is a Silk Top Hat found by Robert (RLK).  It's possible the Felt is Beaver because it's very dense but could be a blend.  The liner is really fantastic.  The color (not sure what to call it plus color changes) and company mark are striking.  The contrasting sweatband with gold embossed company mark are great  too.

  5. Echter Mayser "Spezial", 59 cm possibly mid 1950s.  The Black Felt has a great Finish and easily dry creases.  Classic Form with very stylish Bow design which Mayser used often with their Homburgs in this time period.

The hat was severally crushed at the brim edge during shipping.  The box was pulverized (most likely by USPS) and had to be wrapped in shrink wrap by USPS.  I thought it was lost but arrived yesterday with no status update from USPS since early September.

The photos were taken after popping the crown out so originally more crushed.

  6. Bristol / Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl "Excellent" "Bella", 58 cm later 1960s.  This hat came Open Crown so unusual for a later German made hat.  The Felt has a really fine color and finish and easily dry creases.  The Curled Brim has a bit less Flange than a Homburg and the Brim Binding is thinner so maybe a less formal Homburg. I don't think it would be considered a Camber type but is somewhat similar.  Whatever it is it looks great especially considering the time period.  I also made an interesting discovery (see below).

I am not sure why I missed this but the "Bella" mark was used by Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl so the "Bristol" and "Diplomat" marks were made by Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl.  The paper label formats are similar and so are the components and construction.  Also turns out the "Windsor" mark in Germany was made by Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl.

  7. Miesbacher Velourhutfabrik, Otto Koch, Koch Velour "Extra", 58 cm possible late 1950s.  I was interested in this hat because I don't have an example of Miesbacher Velourhutfabrik, Otto Koch, Koch Velour.  I am not sure if Miesbacher Velourhutfabrik is related to  Ernst Kohlndorfer Miesbach / Oberbayren Velour Hutfabrik so I will have to do some research. The closed cropped Velour is of excellent quality (color, finish, hand) and is in very good condition.  This is a typical Miesbacher Trachten style and the overall quality is superb.

  8. St. Veit (Sankt Veit), 58 cm, Wool Felt, possibly early 1930s.  There isn't a company mark but the paper label has a Sheep with a St. Veit Banner. Sankt Veit an der Glan Schafrasse is a small town in the South East corner of Austria and I couldn't find any Felt Hat production in the town.  My guess is this is the source of the Wool used for the Felt.  The Stiff Felt Hat was sold by a shop (Ludovikus Hagens Wwe) in a small town (Lustenau, Voralberg) in the upper North West corner of Austria.  The Wool Felt has a nice finish and is in very good condition.  The Stiff Felt has great looking Silver Gray Liner with a sharp looking Bow design.
