Berlin Gubener Hutfabrik "Superbe", 57cm possibly later 1950s. This was most likely made by VEB Hutwerke Guben and distributed by a Western German distributor possibly Friedrich W. Schneider Köln. This Soft Felt belongs to Martin on the FL.

Carl Zeumer Magazin Zum PFAU, "Pfau-Hut Spezial Qualität, "Ultima", size 58cm, 156 grams, probably later 1920s. It's a Wool Felt that wears very soft + light and is in very good condition. Not sure what company made it for Carl Zeumer Magazin Zum PFAU. The no company Paper Label type is similar to many German Wool Soft and Stiff Hats from the same time period.

R. Hecht Leipzig - Theater Passage - Grimmaishe Str. 12, Wool, 58cm, 160 grams probably 1930s. The Wool is dense and the finish is very smooth. There is only a small fragment of main paper stamp remaining behind the sweatband. The main paper tag is the same type as a number of other German hats I have that don't have a company mark. My guess is that these hats were made by one of the large scale German Hat Companies that were located in Eastern Germany that produced both Wool and Fur Felt hats but didn't survive WWII.
The above cm size tag and main paper stamp fragment are similar to the this hat.

"Dogma" "Striegau", Wool, 57 cm, possibly 1930s maybe later 1920s and most likely made by Berlin - Gubener Hutfabrik. This is based on the Paper Label type and that "Striegau" was located in Germany but after WWII Strzegom, Poland. The Hat was sold by Hut Köhl Kehl am Rhein** which is directly across the Rhein from Stroudsburg. The Wool felt is very pliable with high gloss. The overall condition is very good and the Crown Tip Patch is still in place. The "Dogma" brand / mark is very unique. I enjoy finding these old German Wool Soft Felt Hats and this one is a great example.

EMS "Gloria" Backbow, measures 59cm, 6 1/2 inches Open Crown, 2 1/2 inches brim. It came with a crease clip (Excelsior) and the original hat shop bag (H. Moeller Marburg). The felt (Ferrum) and ribbon (Veilchen) colors are very unique (both Violets). Same with the felt finish and hand (very malleable). I had trouble photographing it (looks much better). I wasn't able to find anything on EMS. I would like to thank Manfred for pointing me to this gem!

"The “Gloria” logo looks custom to me, I can’t reliably date it. The original hat shop bag (H. Moeller Marburg) is a tad more helpful in this regard: Some of the lines are set in a face known as Druckhaus-Antiqua, among other names. The schmal halbfett weight used for “Cylinder- und Klapphüte” was not added before 1910, see the typeface bio on Fonts In Use. I’d estimate that this typeface was in use at least until the 1930s."

Emil Seeling Neudamm** "Bellona", 58 cm, Back Bow, Crown Open 6 inches, Brim 2 3/4 inches, possibly later 1920s. The black Wool felt easily dry creases and has a nice glow. I have few of these old Wool hats with similar paper labels but I believe this is the oldest. The Crown Patch is missing.
This could be a Sheep surrounded by an "F" and a "S" so possibly Friedrich W. Schneider Köln.

** Emil Seeling Neudamm, Wholeseller. I purchased the Hat almost 3 years ago but I wasn't able to make the connection at that time which has happened before. Neudamm was part of Germany up to 1945 / the end of WWII when it became part of Poland and was renamed Dębno. Neudamm / Dębno is a fairly short distance from Guben, Germany which was the largest Hat and Felt production center in Germany up to WWII. Based on the Hat's Paper Label the Factory that made it was probably Berlin Gubener Hutfabrik / Factory so it makes sense that a wholesaler would be in the same general area.
I also found the Brand / Mark in "Warenzeichenblatt / Trademark Sheet, Volume 32 , 1925, Publisher Wila-Verlag für Wirtschaftswerbung". This publication is also a great find regarding pre WWII German Brand / Mark search.

BGH Soft Felt with no paper label or marking on the Sweatband. Not sure what to make of this Soft Felt. There are no other Berlin Gubener Hutfabrik Soft Felt to compare it to. I haven't seen this BGH Trademark before so I will have to see if I can find it. Compared to the BGH Stiff Felts that I have record of this BGH Soft Felt is very primitive. This Soft Felt belongs to Martin on the FL.
