habigman 0
"Chapeaux - Habig" French Market advertisement stand for P. & C. Habig Wien, probably 1920s maybe 1930s. It's missing the rear fold out stand. Great portrait!
habigman 0
P. & C. Habig Wien, 60cm probably 1980s early 1990s. Could have been made by Mayser after they got the brand rights. This one was sent to me by mistake by a seller. Very nice felt for a later hat so I decided to keep it.
habigman 0
I found some interesting information. Turns out that the Hückel family married into the Habig family and vice versa. Marriage of Karl Habig (son of Karl Habig) to Berta Hückel (daughter of Johann Hückel) in 1902. This 1917 death notice for Johann Hückel has their names listed. There is also Frieda Hückel Habig wife of Karl Habig and mother of Karl Habig II.

habigman 0
P. & C. Habig Wien, 58cm probably 1969. This one belongs to John / Moehawk on the FL. His comments:"The crown is 5" open, the brim 2". The felt is substantial, at 145g total weight, but dense not thick. Finish is very nice. Condition is amazing, the only negative was a slightly dry sweatband that a bit of Lexol took care of. Overall quality is everything I had hoped for, meaning excellent. The seller thought it was 50's, mayserwegener thought maybe a bit later. I will guess late 60's, wondering if the number 69 at the bottom of the paper tag is the year of production. I have a pretty good idea that if I'm wrong there is someone here that can give me a better number!I might call this one The Blue 'Burg of Happiness."

I'll post these in the Homburg Nation thread as well."

habigman 0
Lodenfrey München - P. & C. Habig Wien, size 58cm probably from 1959. This appears to be a store model made by P. & C. Habig Wien. The paper label has the P. & C. Habig Wien name removed from the left side of paper label. This fantatics hat belong to Stefan (steur) on the FL. habigman 0
P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität" - Made Expressly for Eduard Pelger The Hague, missing paper label, measures 56cm, possibly early 1950s maybe earlier. This great hat belongs to Stefan (seur) on the FL and here are his comments. "P&C Habig homburg in brown. This one was part of a set of three with another Habig homburg in black (didn't buy that one) and the GB Borsalino fu Lazzaro homburg (posted earlier). According to the vendor part of the same auction. Makes sense. The black one was from 1952 and the GB Borsalino is from 1935. My guess is that this one is in between (it's lost its label); forties to early fifties. Size 56, brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the pinch. Unlined with a cloth crown patch. This is the "before" shoot. Most of the stains on the ribbon came out. Made expressly for Eduard Pelger, The Hague, which is still in business today. Fits me like a custom." habigman 0
P. & C. Habig Wien "Special", P. & C. Habig's "Special Qualität" Reine Handarbeit Berlin Friedrichstr. 82a, 58cm possibly early 1930s. This hat was made specially for the P. & C. Habig Berlin store at Friedrichstrasse 82 which didn't survive WWII. Everything (felt, sweatband, liner, ribbon, workmanship) about this hat is of the highest quality and in excellent condition. The sweatband is very similar to some P. & C. Habig Wien Silk Top Hats of the same time period. The medium weight black felt has a very soft hand and easily dry creases. It also came with the original P. & C. Habig "Hutmacher" Wien Hat Box. Open Crown
