In 1893 the house was bought by Johann Zapf and still today hunting hats and the famous "Collection Habsburg" are made here. The hand-made hats decorate crowned heads, f.i. the Norwegian royal couple, Gustav XVI of Sweden, and are worn or were worn by Hollywood VIPs like Billy Wilder or Marlene Dietrich. I purchased (rare step out of the vintage world) this hat at the Zapf factory back in January. It is machine + hand formed with high quality finishing work. Unique sweatband color!
