  1. P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität" - Made Expressly for Eduard Pelger The Hague, missing paper label, measures 56cm, possibly early 1950s maybe earlier. This great hat belongs to Stefan (seur) on the FL and here are his comments. "P&C Habig homburg in brown. This one was part of a set of three with another Habig homburg in black (didn't buy that one) and the GB Borsalino fu Lazzaro homburg (posted earlier). According to the vendor part of the same auction. Makes sense. The black one was from 1952 and the GB Borsalino is from 1935. My guess is that this one is in between (it's lost its label); forties to early fifties. Size 56, brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the pinch. Unlined with a cloth crown patch. This is the "before" shoot. Most of the stains on the ribbon came out. Made expressly for Eduard Pelger, The Hague, which is still in business today. Fits me like a custom."
  2. Lodenfrey München - P. & C. Habig Wien, size 58cm probably from 1959. This appears to be a store model made by P. & C. Habig Wien. The paper label has the P. & C. Habig Wien name removed from the left side of paper label. This fantatics hat belong to Stefan (steur) on the FL. Lodenfrey München is still in business today. https://www.lodenfrey.com/

  4. Mayser Miniature Hat Cartons, made by Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern. Last produced about 10 years ago. They are really well made and the dimensions (L x W x H) are approximately 4 1/4 x 4 x 2 1/4 inches. (Click on Photos to Expand)
  5. Hückel Weilheim "Soleil", Hückel's Clipper, size 57cm, possibly late 1950s early 1960s.
  6. I contacted Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern about the Hückel Weilheim Hat Holders I recently found. This is the translated reply I received from Mr. Herber of Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern (still in business today) regarding the Hückel Weilheim Hat Holder. I would like thank Mr. Herber for supplying this historical information. https://www.zeitler-karton.de/feinkartonagen-zeitler.html# " Unfortunately we have no more samples of the Hückel Weilheim Hat Holder. These should be made of solid cardboard and then coated with coloured paper. The plate with the logo on the Hückel Weilheim Hat Holder was not manufactured in our company, as we assume that these were made of plastic/metal. (They are made of tin or tin like metal/alloy, S. Heck) But I can imagine that this plate was hand painted. These plates were probably delivered to us and we then installed them on the Hückel Weilheim Hat Holder. These Hückel Weilheim Hat Holder should have been manufactured in the 1950s. You will find attached three pictures of Huckel hat boxes, which were produced in our company in the 1950s." (Photos courtesy of Mr. Herber of Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern) Mr. Herber also sent me this photo of some of the Hat Holders and Boxes they made for other Hat Factories (Mayser, Rockel, Ottmar Reich, A. Peschel Dinkelsbühl) and Hat Stores (Breiter Hüte). (Photos courtesy of Mr. Herber of Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern)

  8. Società Anonima Cappellificio Monzese, 58.5cm, Wool, possibly late 1950s. There is no paper label behind the sweatband. The Wool is fantastic and easily dry creases. Unique ribbed sweatband. Came a German source so probably originally sold in Germany. Natural Light
  9. J. Hückel´s Söhne Excelsior, French Point Size 4 1/2, possibly 1930s. Stefan on the FL took photos of this hat at Haarlem, Netherlands Vintage Hat retailer.
  10. Hückel Weilheim Hat Holders made by Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern possibly early to later 1950s. The Hückel plates on the fronts are made of a tin like metal and possibly hand painted (I will check with Zeitler). The company moved to Murnau in 1949 and are still in business today. https://www.zeitler-karton.de/feinkartonagen-zeitler.html# Hückel Weilheim "Chevreau"
  11. Continued. Carl Singewald, Gera 1675 Hats from Gera The hatmaking business "Singewald" opened its shop for the first time in Gera. The hat fashion was to change over the centuries, but the Gera tradition store was still after the turmoil of World War II and there he was on the Sorge in the house number 44 to find. http://www.gera-chronik.de/www/gerahistorie/chronik/index.htm?suche1=Sorge&param=&suche2=&max=50&abj=0&index=0 Adress- und Geschäfts-Handbuch sowie Wohnungs-anzeiger der Haupt- und Residenzstadt Gera mit Untermhaus und Cuba, Volume 16, Carl Bethmann 1879 Carl Singewald, Gera. 12. Johann Hückel´s Söhne Standard "Crystall Velour", measures 57cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 inches probably later 1930s. The light green Velour is very high quality and easily dry creases. The paper label is missing. The color will photograph better under natural light. Open Crown
  13. Ferdinand Walter Mödling - Baden (Austria), 5.25 oz / 149 g, excellence condition, possibly 1930s could late 1920s. Ferdinand Walter Mödling - Baden appears in the Austrian Hat Industry Guide (1926) but not sure if they made hats. There is no other company mark. The felt is fantastic same with the form. The bow is slightly offset.
  14. Continued. Qual. / Quality Turf Farbe / Color: Azalee / Azalea 55 / 55cm F.W.S. Koeln / Friedrich W. Schneider Köln Meh / Mehrfarbig / Multicolored
  15. Berlin Gubener Hutfabrik "Turf", Weather - Proof, Crown Open 5 1/2, Brim 2 1/2 inches, 55cm probably early 1950s. The mixed color felt on this hat is really extraordinary. Also great form and interesting Bow and Over Welt. I am guessing Friedrich W. Schneider Köln (still in business today and own Stetson Europe) licensed the B.G.H. mark and the hats was sold by Jung Augsburg (also still in business today). Open Crown
  16. Continued. Natural Light "Deutsche Hutmacher-Zeitung (German Hat Maker News)", December 15, 1936 Exhibition and Assembly - The Men's Hat = Retail In The Federal Area, Hat and Cap, From the 8th to the 10th of April 1951 on the exhibition ground of the "Gruga" in Essen

  19. Borsalino "Cocisca", French Point Size 5 1/2, 2.9 ounces / 83 grams probably early 1960s. This hat was sold by Mauerer Vienna so for the Austrian market. The felt is very light weight with a fantastic Chamois finish and interesting "Ramarro" Green color (Verde Ramarro = Green Lizard). If you look closely you can see a stitched brim binding most likely applied for stability + protection due to very light weight felt. Natural Light
  20. Josef Pichler & Söhne Graz, 56cm, possibly later 1930s early 1940s (see below). The hat is in NOS condition but unfortunately the brim was trimmed down to 2 inches. It came with the 1930s light green JHS "Standard Crystal Velour" I posted last week and was sold by the same store Rudolf Hanus Wien so it could be from a similar time period. The overall quality of this hat is high and the felt is fantastic (color, finish, hand). Josef Pichler was a brother of the more well known Anton Pichler. Open Crown
  21. Windsor probably later 1950s. Belongs to Telemaster on the FL.
  22. Continued. I found this B.G.H. advertisement in D.H.Z. (10/1/1919). The B.G.H. marks in the lower left and right corners show the same letter configuration. The mark on the right is the same mark. Click on Photo to Expand.

  24. This Erko Velour belongs to Lecky on FL. He found it in a Munich Vintage shop along with another hat. I believe this hat is from the 1930s. It has had some fixes to the sweatband and possibly the ribbon has been replaced or poorly fixed.
