Continued. Staircase / Elevator Permanent Exhibition – Hat Fashion (4th Floor) I will start with the Boater (Matelot) collection since Lindenberg was the straw hat making center of Germany. There are some really fantastic hats in the collection. Row 1

This a new hat museum in Lindenberg, Germany that opened in December 2014. It's housed in the restored Ottmar Reich hat factory. Lindenberg in Allgäu was the straw hat making center of Germany and also became a felt hat making center in the early 1900s. Mayser has had operations their since the 1929 (aquired J. Milz & Cie. Straw Hat Factory) and moved all operations (from Ulm) to Lindenberg in 1991. This is a really fantastic museum that is definitely worth visiting. L. F. Rousselet In 1875 Rousselet from Friedrichsdorf set up a fulling mill with a walker for hat-stumpers. From 1934 hat factory Resolut, then owned by Walter See. The building "Zum Köpperner Tal 106" was created from the former Rousselet Hat Factory.

Brüder Böhm Factory in Vienna from the late 1940s early 1950s. I received these rare photos from Jonathan the grandson of Victor Böhm owner and chief inventor at Brüder Böhm Wien, Neutitschein / Novy Jicin. Here is a brief overview by Jonathan followed by the photos + his comments. "The address of the Brüder Böhm factory in Vienna was Schottenfeldgasse 30, in Vienna's 7th district (or VII. Bezirk, called Neubau). Its location on Schottenfeldgasse was the block bounded by Seidengasse, Zieglergasse, and Lindengasse. The plant was in operation from its construction in 1862 to the 1960s. It was demolished in the 1970s, and there is now an apartment complex on the site." "Three exterior views of the factory. This hat was sold by Willy Olfers Dortmund same shop as the fantastic G.B.Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C. "Zenit". Unfortunately the ribbon / bow is missing but otherwise it's in fantastic condition. It's very rare to come across an old German market Stetson.
