  1. Continued. Ladies Böhm Trachten Velour Beautiful large print dating from the 1930s showing the Vienna and Neutitschein / Novy Jicin (two factories one for felt hoods and one for finished hats) factories. An older image of the original Vienna plant in a beautiful period frame. Photographic image of the second Neutitschein plant dating from the mid 1920s -- most probably enlarged from a photo postcard.
  2. I received a personal message from member BruederBoehm(Jonathan) the grandson of Victor Böhm owner and chief inventor at Brüder Böhm Wien, Neutitschein / Novy Jicin. Jonathan kindly offered to let me post some photos of his fantastic / amazing BB collection. My sincere thanks to Jonathan! Victor Böhm's Melone, Böhm "Extra" Haarfliz Could be the same Melone he is wearing in this photo from a 1920s "The American Hatter" article. Joseph Böhm's (owner and brother of Victor's) Soft Felt, Böhm "Wiener Haarhut" Both hats together with photo portrait of Victor Böhm.
  3. S & J Fraenkel Wien, measured 56cm, possibly 1920s, auction photos, made for the American market. This one belongs to Josh on the FL.
  4. Wegener "Extra" Haarhut, size 59cm, probably mid 1950s. Fantastic dark blue felt with very high quality construction. Wegener bow and binding work was consistently great.
  5. J. Hückel´s Söhne, Seiden Zylinder with original case probably 1930s. This one came from a source in the Czech Republic. I really like that JHS used a silk ribbon / bow vs a cloth band which is more typical. Also that the original case survived is special since it's paper based.
  6. Hückel (Weilheim) "Special", probably mid 1950s. Belongs to Perry on the FL.
  7. Continued. Could be Anton Peschel From second batch (17 pieces) of plates.
  8. Here are the last 4 of the 17 liner print plates. Possibly Anton Peschel Neutitschein for Oviatts Los Angles. I really like this one of a hat maker! Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein. "Prazan" probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein. Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein.
  9. Continued. Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein for the American market London, "Extra Quality", probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein "Orlov", probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein Frank Allaire Co. Inc. New York. He was the American representative for Brüder Böhm. In special cases he used his trademark. A large part of the import business was with Jobbers. It was very difficult importing hats / felt because of trade issues of the time. All three of the Nový Jičín (Neutitschein) hat companies were suppliers (hats and felt (Hoods, Capelines), machinery, accessories) to American hat companies including The American Hat Company and Stetson. I have more information on my site regarding Frank Allaire Co. Inc. New York under Brüder Böhm. Dalton Hats "American Style", probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein. Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein for the American market. Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein for the American market. "Konsul" probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein. John Gullson, Established 1884 probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein.
  10. Anton Peschel Neutitschein Here are an addtional collection of old (probably 1930s and older) hat liner print plates (17 pieces) from the Czech Republic. They were found near Štramberk which is a short distance from Nový Jičín (Neutitschein) where Johann Hückel´s Söhne, Anton Peschel and Brüder Böhm were located. Remarkably this is the identical liner logo that appears in Alan's Oviatts Los Angles "Oviatt Model" - Anton Peschel "Service" Velour! Brüder Böhm Neutitschein Probably Brüder Böhm Neutitschein or Anton Peschel Neutitschein B Benzler "Vienna Quality", this is most likely for the American market, thinking Anton Peschel Neutitschein but could be Brüder Böhm Neutitschein
  11. Möckel's Ultra! "Ideal", size 57cm, probably 1920s. This is a really beautifully made Melone! Unfortunately the sweatband reed casing was damaged during shipping because the hat was near mint condition. PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe was the hat company that made the original Homburg for Edward VII. The company went out of business in 1932. It came with an old box (Lange's Hutgeschäft Frankfurt a/M.) which I am not sure is original to the hat. There was a silk pad (also Lange's Hutgeschäft Frankfurt a/M.) so I think might have originally contained a silk Top Hat.
  12. Anton Peschel Neutitschein, I received additional hat liner print plates (17 pieces) from the Czech Republic. Remarkably this is the identical liner logo that appears in Alan's Oviatts Los Angles "Oviatt Model" - Anton Peschel "Service" Velour!
  13. Rockel "Echter Velour", size 59cm, 1950s. Very nice finish and really like the ribbon width and bow design. Thanks to Manfred for this one!
  14. Hutfabrik Moeckel, Dorotheenstraße 8 The hat factory Möckel originated in the early 19th century, when the traditional textile industry began to specialize. Founded in 1806, it was initially a small handicraft business with six assistants. The company grew steadily since 1846 to first 60, then even 120 employees. The best-known product was the "Homburg", which was first given to 1882 in order from Prince Albert Edward of Wales, who later became the British King Edward VII.. This hat shape was soon carried to the elegant and trademarks of nobles alike as politicians and diplomats. The factory, which was allowed to call himself since 1882 purveyor of the English royal family, it gave in the aftermath wealthy and prestigious customers such as the German Emperor Wilhelm II. In 1912 the company was expanded by purchasing the neighboring house Dorotheenstraße 10 significantly. Even the First World War was over, the operation relatively unscathed despite declining orders. Only the great slump caused by the global economic crisis and changes in fashion led to the closure of the factory in 1931.
