  3. VEB Hutkombinat Guben, size 58cm. This one belongs to Trenchfriend on the FL. "I got an completely unused black Fedora from my father, who bought this one decades ago. It's a cheaper made one, typical mass-market in former German Democratic Republic, from "VEB Hutkombinat Guben" (former "Gubener Hutfabik")"
  4. Hückel "Incroyable" Seal Velour, probably 1930s. This fantastic hat belongs to OCMH on the FL.

  8. Anton Blum Salzburg. This one belongs to ErWeSa (Wolfgang). The paper label doesn't have a company mark so not sure if it was made by Anton Blum or sourced.
  9. Anton Blum Salzburg Dreifaltigkeitsgasse 15.: Nothing left there. This article explains what happened to the complex of buildings there. http://www.rechenauer-architekten.de/journal/varianzen-des-denkmalsschutzes-am-ehemaligen-primogeniturpalast-in-salzburg/ The Blum shop must already have been closed when this photo was taken in 1970, it is the shop far left.
  10. Franz Herzog - Saalfelden, measured size 56cm. This one belongs to ErWeSa (Wolfgang). It has a a great form and the felt is fantastic. Also like the mid width ribbon and bow design.

  12. Carl Ceschka's Söhne Wien, . This Homburg belongs to ErWeSa (Wolfgang). Newspaper behind the sweatband from the 1950s.
  13. Carl Ceschka's Söhne Wien Kaiserstr. 123, Alserstraße 6 Participated in the 1900 Paris Grand Prix. http://germanaustrianhats.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/5-p-c-habig-hutfabrik/page-4&do=findComment&comment=711 Title Plate: Carl Ceschka and sons, La Capelo, Vienna Description Cliché; advertising image of the firm Carl Ceschka and sons; label: " La capelo Esperanto, el la fabriko Carl Ceschka and sons, Vienna, Kaiserstr. 123, Alserstrasse 6 " Date about 1935 http://www.bildarchivaustria.at/Pages/ImageDetail.aspx?p_iBildID=10578976 District VII, Kaiserstrasse 123, Wien Listed in the Austrian Hat Industry Guide 1926 (see page 14). Robert Ceschka must be a relative. http://germanaustrianhats.invisionz...7-austrian-hat-industry-guide-1926/#entry1237 Listed in the December 20, 1930 Austrian Hat Makers News. This is the Vienna Hat Makers Coop. Robert Ceschka is listed in the December 5, 1933 Austrian Hat Makers News. He is one of two Kommerzialrat (Counsellor of Commerce) listed which is an honorary title so he was an important figure in the Austrian Hat Industry. The number of donors is way down and there is a plea for help. This is due the very bad economic situation. "Donations for the support fund of the Viennese Hatter Cooperative. Colleagues! Take care of the destitute masters and assistants as well as master and assistant widows and give plentifully to the support fund of our cooperative! Commercial Councilor Heinrich Sandmann, Head of Department." I haven't been able to find any post WWII record of the company. It appears the company goes back to at least the mid 1800s. The last record I could find is from the 1944 Vienna City directory. The building looks like it's still intact so not sure what happened.

  18. Echter Borsalino, Point 5 1/2, 3 inch brim, very good condition, probably early 1950s but could be earlier. Very nice form and I really like the bow design.
  19. Continued. I confirmed that the paper label is the same on the size 5 1/2 Point Max Eckard Echter Borsalino
  20. Echter Borsalino, size Point 6 1/2, Mint condition, date stamped 17.5.29 (May 17, 1929). The felt is very soft / light weight with a unique box bow design for this style hat and also has a wind cord. It has an fantastic over welt curled brim and the non-reed sweatband is very finely stitched to the hat. I was able to take a photo of the paper label which has a hand written Point size and the words "Bismuto" (Bismuth) and "Sanboca"(?). The Berlin store / hat company (Max Eckard) that sold it did not survive WWII. The box is from a Berlin hat store (Philipp Neubauer Berlin)that survived WWII but not the locations listed (I have / had a few hats from this store). This a the same model / seller as the previous Point 5 1/2 size Max Eckard Echter Borsalino.
